Kim's Bio

Virginia painter Kim Hall tries to quickly capture the light and essence of a scene in our quickly disappearing landscape.  She enjoys the challenge of painting “en plein air”, or directly from life.  For her there is no better way to capture a scened or a moment in time than being there in that moment.

Kim received her BA in studio art from George Mason University and continued her studies at The Corcoran School of Art in Washington, DC.  Over the years she has taken many workshops from her favorite artists and mentors including:  Larry Moore, Roger Dale Brown, Dawn Whitelaw, and Dee Beard Dean.

Kim is a member of Oil Painters of America, American Impressionist Society, Women Painters of the Southeast, Virginia Plein Air Painters, and Mid-Atlantic Plein Air Painters.  Her website is

She lives in Richmond with her dog, Romeo, who often accompanies her when she paints.
