VMFA Virginia Museum of Fine Arts
Taking advantage of the beautiful weather today in Richmond, artist and VMFA docent Linda Hollett-Bazouzi paints our sculpture garden “en plein air”, a technique of painting outside to capture the natural light and movement of a place as it unfolds before the artist. Popular from the mid-19th century onward by many artists, including painters seen in our collection such as Monet and Pissarro. Where would you set up your easel on a day like today?

On Friday August 7th from 5:00pm - 7:30pm Linda Hollett will be here at the Cabell Gallery of Fine Art doing a live demo and sharing a selection of her recent plein air works! This show is a part of the First Fridays Lexington Downtown show series, so be sure to also visit Artists in Cahoots, Lexington VA and Nelson Gallery as you work your way down Washington St!
